Recently I've put on quite a lot of weight. It sort of crept up on me and I've ballooned.
When 'bee saw me bursting out of the seams of my dress at our company's CNY dinner, she asked in shock, "What have you been doing?"
My quick reply was simple. "Nothing!"
If I had been doing anything that requires more calories being expended I wouldn't have piled on all that excess weight so easily.
Now I really have to do something about it.

Young, Fat Or Pregnant
While checking out a pair of maternity jeans for my 'bee this afternoon, I was flabbergasted when the shop-girl recommended that I take L size. I really didn't know whether to be flattered or to be offended.
I'm either look young enough to be expecting a baby :) or I'm so fat that I look pregnant :(

40 Green Apples
Today is Day 3 of our "Eat One Green Apple a Day for 40 Days" project.
The reason for embarking on this project is for weight loss 'cos most of us (at the office) have a lot of "sai tor" to get rid off. We're optimistic that we should see results in time for my birthday bash which is a mere week away from today.
The project is going well and should be a great success because there are five of us on board and we're reminding and encouraging one another to fulfill our daily quota of apples.
In addition, the apples supplied by one of our gang are really delicious. I normally find green apples too sour for my taste but to my surprise these are crunchy, juicy and not sour at all. Yums!
And they are so much cheaper than red apples. Yay!
I can truly say that I'm looking forward to sinking my teeth into my apple for today.

Natural Botox
I read this today: To prevent sagging skin, eat till the wrinkles fill out.
So if you're looking for a natural botox treatment, just "plump up" a bit when age catches up on you.
Unfortunately it is very hard to juggle the "a bit" part. Most people end up with too much, and all at the wrong places.
That's the context for conversations like this:
Two women are talking on their daily walk. One says, "It's really hard to lose weight as I get older. I remain apple-shaped no matter what I do."
"I know. I exercise all the time and there's still too much fat. Funny how you have your weight in the stomach. Mine is on my backside and thighs."
"It's true. The lard works in mysterious ways."

Plump and Pretty
I am so happy! I received 3 compliments over the last one week and all the compliments came this way:
First they said they could not recognize me.
Then they said I'm looking prettier than ever.
Then they commented that I was too skinny before.
Conclusion: I look better plump than skinny.
Like that there's no need for me to lose weight. Just have to make sure I don't gain more!

Bridging The Generation Gap
I bought a weighing machine for our babee today so she can check her weight. She's on a weight gain mission but photos seem to indicate that she is losing weight instead.
There were a number of cheaper weighing machines which were only calibrated in kilograms. I was brought up to think in terms of pounds so I decided to pay more for one that's calibrated in both pounds and kilograms.
I thought I was doing 'bee a favour, mana tau in my chat with her she said:
This simple weighing machine has now assumed an important role in helping to bridge the generation gap. It's calibrated in kg so it makes sense to her and also in lbs so she can let us know her weight in terms that make sense to us.

Thank God there weren't any that were calibrated only in pounds 'cos that probably saved me from a big blunder.I'm KG girl lah.in school we don't learn lbs

Counting Calories & Blessings

That reminded me of the good, old days when I could eat as much as I wanted to and not put on an ounce. In fact people used to say I have hollow legs. I wouldn't believe if anyone had told me then that there would come a time when the weight would start piling up and I would have to reduce portions and watch the calories.
Nowadays I put on weight just thinking about food! Susah la.
BTW, that comic also reminded me that I really should count my blessings. For something as basic and as common as strong water pressure. I used to complain about unsatisfactory water pressure at home until I experienced what low water pressure was while I was in KL.
The water pressure was so low that bath time took longer than usual because I have to wash section by section or parts of my body will not get wet at all!
I was never as grateful and neither have I enjoyed my shower that much as on the night I reached home. Isn't it so human of us to take our blessings for granted?
